We assemble, test and deliver new passenger railcars supplied by international car builders for service in the United States.
After completing our first new car assembly project in 1986—Nippon Sharyo commuter cars for Maryland’s MARC service—we have since assembled Bi-Level Gallery cars, EMU and Locomotive-hauled Commuter cars, Light Rail vehicles, Metro and Heavy Rail passenger cars for several Railcar Builders.
Railcar Overhaul -
A leader in a challenging field
Transitair-TTA, as Prime Contractor, has successfully rebuilt and upgraded several types of rail transit vehicles from the truck up, as well as performed repair of stainless steel and aluminum carbodies. This also includes overhaul & upgrade of systems, as well as integration of “new” systems into the rail car. If engaged as a subcontractor, we are able to provide “all” project activities or only as selected by the Prime.
