Transitair-TTA leads in design, build and testing of modern HVAC systems to exacting standards and regulations for new and existing passenger railcars and locomotives. We work closely with our customers at the design and prototyping stages to ensure the integrity and compatibility of the product.
Our offering includes all types of passenger railcar units; packaged, split, roof mount, undercar, etc., as well as passenger & freight locomotives.
With over thirty years of successful supply history of rail passenger HVAC systems, we have designed, produced, and supplied several thousand new HVAC units. Additionally, we also overhaul and upgrade existing HVAC systems to meet the latest environmental and operating standards, with many thousands in operation.
Our capabilities also include supply of both new and refurbished locomotive HVAC units.

Comfort Commander – Programmable Logic Controller
Transitair-TTA’s proprietary “Comfort Commander” programmable logic controller can be used with both new and existing HVAC systems – and leads the industry in control of HVAC system, reliably providing HVAC control features mandated by today’s rigorous transit vehicle specifications.
The equipment is flexible and works with most systems and interfaces. Its modular design enables it to be placed in different locations and spaces within a car. Programming can be done by a ‘layman’ through ‘EZ Ladder’. State-of-the-art PTU’s are available.
This equipment meets or exceeds all the control requirements specified for today’s modern rail passenger vehicles.
